Using a meter such as Kill A Watt can reveal the true amount of energy a fridge or any other appliance is drawing. And often a 2nd rarely used energy hog of an old fridge is living out in the garage or basement.Get rid of it.

Good Morning, One of the simplest things to do to make a refrigerator more efficient is to fill as much of the empty space as possible with containers of water. Reducing the amount of "cold air drop" every time you open the refrigerator also reduces the amount of warm air entering the cabinet. I probably have 20% of my refrigerator space filled with gallon and 1/2 gallon containers of H2O and there is still plenty of space for my needs.

Have a Joy filled holiday season!
